Which one is right for you

For a first visit by train, book Quinta da Foz at 14:30 from Monday to Saturday. You get a cellar visit and five wines from €35 per person. The quinta is five minutes on foot from Pinhão station. This option has no Sunday departure.

For a small group, Quinta dos Novais takes up to 10 people on its vineyard visit. You taste four wines over 90 minutes from €25 per person. Getting to Sande is your responsibility. If you prefer four ports, Quinta da Portela de Baixo starts from €30 per person but takes up to 32 people.

For the lowest price, EFun’s four wine tasting starts from €18 per person and lasts one hour. You meet at Quinta de Sequeiros in Lamego for a guided tasting of Solar dos Dragos wines. Honey and olive oil samples are included. Lunch is separate and the ticket does not include a cellar walk.

For a short visit near Porto, Poças offers a 90 minute cellar visit in Gaia from €23 per adult. You get two DOC Douro wines and one port without travelling into the valley. The selected option is French Guided Visit. Choose English Guided Visit if needed; its Tuesday to Sunday schedule includes 11:00 and 11:30.

Use the places to locate your meeting point; each of these five tickets covers a visit at one address.

Know before you go

Quinta meeting points

None includes pickup in Porto. Walk from Pinhão station to Quinta da Foz in five minutes. For Lamego visits, arrange a taxi from Régua station and agree your return collection. Poças meets in Gaia, outside the valley.

Quinta tasting options

Your price covers the selected tasting option. Portela’s Port Experience contains four ports and tapas; Poças includes two DOC Douro wines with one port. Choose your date on the booking page and pay the price shown there. For transport from Porto, use the wine tours list.

Quinta visits with children

Quinta da Foz and EFun have adult booking bands from 18 to 99. Portela and Novais also have booking bands for younger visitors; an adult must accompany those bookings. Poças admits younger visitors too and requires an adult on the booking. Include younger visitors when you book.

Quinta booking conditions

All five visits have instant booking confirmation. Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start for a full refund. Later cancellations receive no refund. Each accepts a booking for one person; a maximum per booking can differ from the total group size.

Quinta vineyard walks

Wear shoes with grip for vineyard walks at Novais or Foz. Foz’s route into the tasting room includes stairs. Poças has wheelchair accessible facilities in Gaia, if you need that access. In July and August, bring water and sun protection for the valley’s hot summers.

Douro harvest visits

Harvest dates depend on ripeness and weather. In harvest: reserve your September or October tasting ahead, and ask about a separate harvest programme if you want to participate. You cannot assume the late departures continue through winter. Poças ends visits earlier from November to April; choose an available time for your date.
