For a first visit from Porto, Detours Douro 4x4 starts at 8:00 and lasts nine hours. You get a picnic and a quinta tasting, with a boat trip included in this option. It has the lowest starting price: from €170 per person in a group of 6, 6 of you. Smaller parties pay more per person.

For a small private group already in the valley, Grapeland Douro 4x4 takes six to eight hours. You visit Favaios and the Tua Valley. The price starts from €220 per adult for 7 or more when seven or eight adults travel together. Choose it for those stops; you need local pickup arrangements and the operator confirms after booking.

For more quinta visits, Douro Autêntico 4wd adventure includes tastings at two quintas and starts at 9:00. You also have lunch and a boat trip. The price starts from €219 per adult with pickup in Pinhão or Peso da Régua; Tabuaço is another pickup option. Allow eight to nine hours within the valley.

How to get there

Detours collects you in central Porto. Grapeland arranges pickup near the Douro, while Douro Autêntico serves Pinhão or Régua with Tabuaço also available. Deltatur includes Douro pickup in the English option compared here; its Porto departures are separate options. Arrange your pickup location before making a train connection part of your plan.

Quinta visits and tastings

All four selected options include lunch and wine tasting, with a boat trip also in the price. Detours serves a picnic at Galafura. Grapeland and Douro Autêntico include restaurant lunches; Deltatur combines a quinta visit with lunch and drinks. The buttons open the booking page, where you pay the price shown for your party.

Private group

Private means your party takes the tour together. The booking limits do not tell you how many passengers fit in each vehicle or how many vehicles will arrive. Tell the operator each child’s age and request the seat you need before booking. Grapeland has no age band for 16 or 17, so families with teenagers need that resolved first.

Free cancellation

All four tours allow free cancellation until 24 h before departure, with no refund after that deadline. Detours and Deltatur process bookings instantly. When to get there

In July and August, plan for heat. Carry water for the outdoor stops even when your tour includes drinks.
